Morse Lake, one of Indianapolis’ three manmade reservoirs, is in northern Hamilton County. The city of Noblesville claims its southern shore, and its north shore belongs to Cicero. Twenty-five miles north of downtown Indianapolis, Morse Lake offers an ideal location for both vacation and permanent homes.
Over 1500 acres, Morse Lake offers deeper water than Geist, one of Indianapolis’ other reservoirs. Morse Lake also claims over 35 miles of shoreline, most of which is occupied with residences. Homes ranging from cottages to million-dollar estates lend variety and plenty of options for families and retirees looking to settle on the lake.
Morse Lake can be accessed for free from Red Bridge Park on the west shore in Cicero. Rent a boat, refuel your own boat, and enjoy the clubhouse and public swimming pool. Red Bridge also hosts events like old boat shows. Morse Lake Park is located on the east shore. It features areas for cookouts with covered shelters. Both parks are popular fishing spots, too.
Life on Morse Lake is a retreat from city life. A 45-minute commute still provides easy access to Indianapolis, but residents also have the benefit of a vacation in their own backyard.
